Mum to Be Massage
Pregnancy is a magical and exciting time, but with the joys of a new baby’s development comes many changes to a mother’s body putting pressure on joints, muscles, ligaments and organs which can often cause discomfort and pain.
Massage throughout Pregnancy is a wonderful way for the mother to be more aware of her own body and adjust to the changes, this in turn can help with the ability to relax during the 1st stages of labour, which often result in shorter and easier births with less pain and lower rates of postnatal complication.
Massage not only helps to alleviate common aches and pains and symptoms associated with pregnancy but also can help reduce stress levels by its calming effect. This calming effect releases ‘feel good’ endorphins from the mother to the baby during massage, which can be of great benefit to the baby. Massage increases prolactin and mammary development which improves breast feeding success.
